Play Ball!

Since our boys are playing baseball on a city league, baseball is now the coolest thing around our house. Wakko practically lives in his ball cap, and both boys carry their mitts with them just about everywhere. If I had a dollar for every time I had to pick up a ball in our house, we could go to Disneyland again. My dad got some discounted tickets to the "Bees" game (SLC's minor league) for last Saturday. We really enjoyed ourselves! (We brought our coats since it was chilly when we left the ball park. It warmed up quite nicely during the game.) We loved watching as several players smacked home runs. It was such fun to be only six rows up from Left Field. The other team (the Portland Beavers) had their reserve pitchers practicing right in front of where we sat. When all was said and done, the "Bees" won 11-10 and the kids got to run around the bases.
This great American past-time was loads of fun for all of us! We cheered as if our team were the greatest team ever, we sang "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" during the seventh inning stretch, and the boys tried to catch every fly-ball of the game. It was a blast-- we'll be going to another baseball game again, I'm sure!
Next time, we'll have to be sure to get hotdogs! Oh, and remember to wear sunscreen...
