Silly, Silly, Silly!

What a hoot! It's tough because so many of my buddies are doing this... pick and choose!

This is a crazy-fun tag, that I hope you'll get as a big a kick out of as I did....

Here's how it works: The first five people to leave me a comment get something made by me just for them. It can be anything I want, I get to choose. It can be silly or serious, edible or not, but don't plan on anything alive. There are a few rules involved (aren't there always?):

1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It will be done sometime this year (Don't expect grand things if it takes a long time. I'm just lazy!).
4- You have no clue what it's going to be. (The choice is mine! --insert evil laugh here--)
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange and/or silly.

The catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they've posted on their blog win a hand made, super creative, possibly lovely whatever in the heck I decide! Be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!

(yes, I copied and pasted directly from Patti's blog...I'm that lazy right now.)

A Tag About Me?

My cute friend Megan tagged me! I hope this is fun for you... and I invite you all to play along!

1. My husband is the hottest man I've ever known and I am passionately in love with him.

2. I was born on the day my family was moving into our home. You're welcome, Mom!

3. I started student teaching ballet when I was fourteen years old. I was immediately hooked!

4. My brother says I have "doughy" toes.

5. My favorite colors are black, brown, and pink.

6. I love Mexican food, but have to be careful about what I eat this pregnancy.

7. I am addicted to musical theater.

8. I don't mind.

9. I believe in education big time: this is why we have chosen to do home schooling.

10. I know that home schooling is a controversial topic, but it really is what is best for my kids.

11. I hate it when people ask me when my baby's due when I'm not pregnant, and assume I'm just fat when I am pregnant.

12. There are few things I love to do as much as I love to spend time with my kids.

13. My friends are more important to me as an adult than they were when I was a kid. I think it's because I actually appreciate them now rather than taking them for granted.

14. I still look up to my mom and my brother is still my hero.

15. I hate it when my house is a mess, but I really don't mind if others are.

16. I adore going out to lunch with my friends; I would rather do that then just about anything else.

17. Breaking habits is really hard for me...

18. I cannot stand the smell of Gatorade--any flavor.

19. I think the best three flavors are: chocolate, peanut butter, and strawberries.

20. My kids make me laugh every day.

21. I am always in the mood for a good movie.

22. I like to make up words like "snackage".

23. I love to feed people.

24. My greatest fear is singing in front of other people.

25. We're naming our baby girl "Ellie Ann".

Seven Things I Love

Kate tagged me to come up with seven things I love. I have to admit, it will be difficult to narrow it down to seven....

1. I love my family. I'm madly in love with Dad; he is my everything and I feel honored and blessed to be his wife. I adore my sweet kids. They are my purest joy, my greatest strength, and my most treasured people ever. I don't know what I'd ever do without them. I feel so lucky to have my parents and Dad's parents in my life. Your examples, love, and strength make me want to be a better person. My sibs... you are my dearest friends. You are the first people I call to share joys and sorrows. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives even now that we're no longer under the same roof. Melissa, you know that means you, too! I love that we have "built in buddies" by virtue of families; I think it's one of the greatest institutions ever, and that families are truly inspired. I look forward to the time when I can see my "extended" family again.

2. I love my friends. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by a network of amazing women and men that continually support and love me. I feel that true friends are the spice of life; and I like life spicy! My friends make the hardest days bearable: you mean more to me than I could possibly ever tell you in words. Thank you for being who you are and loving me for who I am.

3. I love dance and the performing arts. I love to dance, to teach, to choreograph, to watch others, and to be in shows. I guess you could say I'm a bit obsessed. Actually, I tried to squelch that love several years ago and let it be on a shelf for a while. It didn't work! Dance and the theater are too much a part of who I am! (I can't wait to see Kate and Yakko in "A Christmas Carol" and my dad in "The Nutcracker"!)

4. I love our country. I don't care whether or not it's PC to admit it, but I do have a deep love of our nation, it's founders, and what our country stands for. I love that we have the freedom to worship "how, where, and what" we choose. I love the democratic processes and the organization that the Constitution creates. I love that our country is doing what it can to help others. I am proud of our armed forces for being so brave to keep us safe.

5. I love knowing that there is a true and living prophet on the earth. It brings me great comfort knowing that God hasn't forgotten us, but loves us individually and gives us guidance today. I may not be a "Molly Mormon", but I do have a testimony of the LDS church.

6. I love to travel. My favorite places to travel: Cleveland, Disneyland, Dad's parents', Fish Lake, New York, Washington D.C.. I would do just about any thing to be able to go to Cleveland or Disneyland soon. I miss Nate's family so much... it's so hard to be so far away. I think of you every day, and am thankful for technology that allows blogs so that I can see your pictures every day.

7. I love education. I love to learn, to teach, and to be inspired. I love that I get to be such a big part of my childrens' education through home schooling. I love that Dad's going to school, that my mom teaches, and that so many others lift and inspire our minds. I love to read, watch educational programming, and to study. I love to learn new programs and tricks on the computer. I love the internet and the things it makes possible: like connecting with my friends and family!

Have I cheesed you enough? Please know that I am sincere, and that this has been such a joy to me: I've loved reflecting upon such blessings.

I'm tagging whomever would like to lift their spirits to list the seven things you love most.

Quirks Lead to Smirks...

I must admit that I adore my friends. I love them so much that I don't even mind being tagged again!

Here are 6 "quirky" things about myself. I'll tag 6 people when I'm done.

1. I seriously hate it when my house is a mess. I really don't care what state anyone else keeps their house, but mine messy drives me crazy.

2. I am allergic to milk. This makes me sad because of ice cream and cheese, but I eat them occasionally any way. I don't mind it for the lack of milk drinking: of this, I'm not a fan.

3. I would just about jab out an eye to be able to sing well enough to have a sporting chance at making it in a show at Hale Center Theater. However, practicing singing in front of Kate makes me more nervous than jabbing out an eye. I need to get over it so that I can grow. ("Grow in love...")

4. I love carrot cake.
5. I really do not like spiders, scorpions, snakes, or ear wigs. My dislike for these things (especially ear wigs) is the primary reason I won't watch "Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan". It sends shivers down my spine!6. I am really in need of a pedicure. Know any reasonably priced place that is any good?Okay, now I'm tagging: Trisha, Tiffanie, Eve, McKenzie, Bonnie, Kate, and Sarah. Have fun!

Memory Tag

My friend Amy is playing memory tag. Since I left a memory on her comments, I must now play, too.
Here are the rules:
1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. I can't wait to see what people remember.

I've Been Tagged Again!

Okay, I admit that I love having friends!!! Being tagged is kinda fun!

Here we go:

Five goals:

1. Get my house in order. Some of my friends tease that I think if there's a crumb on the floor, my house is a disaster. It's not that bad. I just know that there are some neglected rooms that need some serious attention. My office, for one, has turned into a dumping ground. That needs to be fixed soon. My storage room is the basement dumping ground. Oy.

2. Keep up my exercise routine. I'm two days into my early morning walking revival. I need to--I must keep it up. It's how I lost 30 lbs. last fall.

3. Be more patient. My family deserves the best, and when I'm grumpy, they're not getting the best.

4. Tackle my fear of singing in front of people. This is a major problem. I get so scared that I literally shake for a long time after. Yikes.

5. Keep in touch with my friends and family better. Again, a major goal of mine since this is an area in which I've not been very good. This includes finding more ways to serve. Sorry, folks.

Places I've lived:

1. Sandy City, UT

2. Salt Lake City, UT

3. Springdale (Zion National Park), UT

4. LaVerkin, UT

5. Hurricane, UT

6. St. George, UT

7. West Jordan, UT

(Okay, so I'm kinda boring. Utah's my home... but I'll tell you what: some of those places... let's just say I've got stories!)

Now it's time for me to pick 4 people to tag:

Megan, Rachael, Susan, Sarah

Have fun!

I've Been Tagged!

Okay, so I'm excited! I've never been offically tagged before! Here it goes!

Need to list: 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 random surprising facts about yourself. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog!

3 Joys:
1. My children and husband. I know it sounds corny, but I just adore them! I love being a mom far more than I ever expected to. It's more wonderful and fulfilling than I ever imagined.
2. My friends. The saying "you don't know what you've got til it's gone" is so true. It's been a long time since I've had really close friends and I feel so blessed to have some of the most awesome friends ever. I love you guys!
3. Theater! I love it, and am so grateful to be back in it. I love to see the process of a show from start to finish; to gain new friends, and learn new things!

3 Fears:
1. Something bad happening to Troy or my kids. It's not to the point of paranoia, but it would break my heart forever if something horrible happened to them.
2. Getting super fat. Okay, I'm vain. I've been pretty heavy before, and I don't ever want to go there again. I don't expect to ever be a toothpick, but super fat's just not for me.
3. Losing touch with those I love. People and relationships are so important to me.

3 Goals:
1. To get in better shape. Since my walking buddy moved, I've been terrible about getting exercise in every day. I need to do better with that.
2. To stay in touch with my friends better. I go in streaks where I'll be great about it, and then not so hot. Sorry. I am trying to do better.
3. To watch my mouth. Enough said.

3 Current Obsessions/Collections:
1. Movies. We collect them like crazy. I know, it's sick.
2. A clean house. Since Birdie rehearsals and performances have gotten to point critical, my house has suffered. Those of you who know me well know that this is driving me nuts! I am obsessed with getting it clean.
3. Shoes. I can't afford to buy new ones, but I love to look at them at the stores and dream...

3 Random Surprising Facts:
1. My hair has been multiple shades of red, blonde, yellow, green, orange, brown, and black. Not in that order, and not always on purpose.
2. I can't stand feet. I know it's strange considering that I'm a dancer/teacher and that I love shoes. I just get grossed out by feet. Yuck.
