Mom's Day... Just a Little Late

Mother's Day this year was so different from any other I've enjoyed: I've never had a baby so tiny and had my mother-in-law at my home. It was a wonderful experience that will forever be in my memory. My sweet husband made everyone Belgium waffles, gave his mom and me roses, and loaded me up with gifts. My adorable Dot, Yakko, and Wakko made cards for me. They melted my heart! It was great to share this special day with my darling family and MIL; it was enhanced with joy being able to have a visit from my wonderful mom, a chat with my grandma, and several friends sending me happy wishes.

My darling MIL was here for a week; she took care of all our needs and did so with patience and understanding. She washed laundry, played with Dot, Yakko, and Wakko, fixed meals, cleaned the house, bought us a ton of stuff, and helped with Baby Peanut. I will forever be in debt to her for all she did to make this transition from bed rest to hospital to home go so much more smoothly than I expected. She is a sweet heart and I feel so blessed to have her in my life.

My own mom was able to drop by after a long trip home. She is so sweet to come and see me; she and my dad gave me some very kind gifts as well. I love my mom so much and feel blessed to be her daughter! I am so proud of her for working so hard to fulfill her dreams and getting another degree; way to go, Mom!

I had four friends send me a video with my name inserted as "Mother of the Year". Although I know I am WAY FAR FROM IT, it meant the world to me that so many of these sweet ladies thought enough about me to do this; thank you! I am so touched!

Please know that I had the best intentions to send a cheesy e-card to all my fellow moms... I hope you'll understand my "laziness" this year and forgive me for not personally wishing all my dear friends a happy Mother's Day. I do hope that all you moms and future moms had a splendid Mother's Day and know how blessed I feel to have you!

Happy Belated Mother's Day!

So cute! I'm sorry, but her belly button might be a tad cuter than yours. :)
