Dear Dot, Yakko, Wakko, and Peanut,
Today is the eighth anniversary of one of the most horrific acts of terror our world has ever known. Today is a reminder of the evil this world possesses. Today is also a reminder of the heroes that make sacrifices daily to keep us safe. It is a reminder of the possibilities we have within us.
As I watch documentaries on the horrors of September 11, 2001, I pray our country will never forget. I pray we will never forget the heroes: the flight attendants, the pilots, the passengers, the fire fighters, the police officers, the government officials, and the civilians... the people who did the best they could to help others, to fight back, to stand tall. I pray we also will remember the families whose lives were forever altered by the loss of loved ones. I pray we find our courage within to be strong.
Our world, our country, our state, our city, our neighborhood has the potential to be forever strong and united. We posses within ourselves the power to make a change; we can be part of that change. We can stand tall, stand proud, stand united in the hope that our world can be a better place.
Never forget. Always carry hope. Never have fear. Always have a plan.
I love you forever. I am proud of the people you are. You have the talents, the brains, and the potential to accomplish anything you desire! Be the kind of person who never has to think about what is right; be the kind of person who is so used to doing what's right that it comes automatically. Be the kind of person who makes the changes. Support our country, support our leaders, and support patriotism.
Forever,
Mom
